My name is Andrew Mitchell
I had no idea he had passed. I tried phoning him the other day and it so sad. I have so many photos of him. If any family members want photos let me know. He was a good friend. Even though we disagree we could always fish and have a few pops. Photos I have bur not on this phone. He was a very beautiful and sensitive man. And in the end accepting of other lifestyles and opinions. He was a country boy and pure of heart.

Thank you, Bev and Art. Dad loved all of you out Vancouver way. He delighted in the conversations and laughter he shared with you, and was always quick to brag to us when he had spoken with you by phone. It is such a special memory for us that you came out to Mom and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary celebration, and that you gave them a limo ride downtown for dinner with you. You were as precious to both of them as they have been to you.

To Jude, Bev and Art,
Thank you for your generous donation to the Humane Society in Dad's name. You were all so special to Dad. That trip to Saskatchewan in 1969 that you guys made, changed all our lives for the richer. We are so thankful that you kept contact with Mom and Dad over the years. Such a blessing! ❤

Joe and Dolores Grill wish to send their condolences to Orville's family. Meeting through the Cancer Program, Orville and Joe kept in touch and remained friends over the years. As his daughter, I have heard many good things from my dad about Orville and he will miss him very much.

Cindy,
Thank you for taking the time to share the kind words. Our Dad spoke of Joe many times and we know they did a lot of great work together at the Cancer Program. We also know they shared a lot of laughs too!

Thank you, Cindy. Dad wanted to make sure he spoke with your Dad in his last days. And Dad was very glad that he got to talk to him. He mentioned Joe in a lot of his stories over the years. Please pass along our gratitude to your Dad for caring to send this nice message.

Orville was always willing to help his neighbors in time of need; for example, when we moved into our new house on Angus Street and a great downpour flooded our basement. He was there to make sure everything was okay. He also loved dogs so we made a contribution to the Regina Humane Society in his name. Orville will be missed! Our sincere condolences to Dot and all his family.

Thank you, Diane and Richard, for your kind words. And thank you for donating to the Humane Society in Dad's name. He would be humbled with your action.
Dad loved helping others, and was frustrated with his physical limitations to doing that in his later years. I'm so glad that you remember him as a helper. His neighbors were as important to him as his family. Thank you for the comfort your words bring to us.

Dear Dot and family, Helen and I are very sad to hear about Orv. As you know we began curling with him in 1982. He and Joe Kurz were part of a core of long time members of the Public Health Curling League and were an integral reason that the league was the longest running comercial league in Regina. Orville was an inspiration on and off the ice and brought boundless energy and enthusiasm. Even after his curling days were over he would come faithfully to the curling rink and interacted with his many friends. We will miss him deeply and we will always remember and treasure his friendship.

Hello John and Helen. Thank you for the kind and generous words. Saturday night curling was a big deal and such an important part of our Dad's life. The camaraderie, good laughs and good curling made the 55 years he spent with you and others a highlight. Thank you for being part of that.

It is really hard to believe that Orv .... my dear neighbour and friend is gone. From my earliest childhood memories he was always there in one way or another. Helping me fix my car, hunting and fishing trips with my Dad , sharing a beer .... you name it. My deepest condolences to Dot, Barb, Bill and Bev the family that was and still is much more than just neighbours. I will miss Orv beyond words could describe.
So sorry for yours and my loss.

Thank you,Ted, for these lovely words. You are right when you said being neighbors on our block meant being family. Dad was so pleased when all of you Mazuraks came to visit him at the window. It meant so much to him that you went to the effort of making signs that brought back so many good memories. He was especially overwhelmed with the large wooden sign that you made for him. He kept talking about "all the work Ted went to with that big sign".

Love and condolences to the Pratt family. What a lovely testimonial to read, and as a grand-niece, I can say that his stories were always invigorating and full of humour and emotion! I will always think of uncle Orville as full of light and and a sparkle in his eye. I'm so grateful to have had the chance to see him in January, and lovely to have seen (most of) the Pratt family at that time. You are all in our prayers and hearts.

My Thoughts and Prayers are with my Aunt Dot, Cousins Billy, Barb, Bev and their families. I have many memories of Orville who always had a laugh and his favourite beer at family functions. I remember the Christmas time we shared as children and later the Christmas memories with my kids, the many conversations about the Riders, seeing Orville and my dad during the hunting trips, almost always with the Clan from Vancouver, all who loved to hunt but did not enjoy the weather as Orville and my dad did. I am glad he was able to pass on the way he wanted to and now is with his Family and Friends who predeceased him. He will be missed. He will be forever in our memories.

Thank you, Paul. Christmases were so fun as kids when we would always get together with our cousins. So many nice memories that we still share with our own kids. Dad certainly did love hunting in the fall. Mom and Dad spent so much time with your Mom and Dad, and we were often entertained with endless stories of their get-togethers. They knew how to have fun!

Our family met Orville at Applause, working behind the scenes, the recitals and family barbecues. He always had a smile on his face and encouraging words for the dancers and the parents. We send our deepest condolences to Dot, Barb, Murray and family.
