At the 2019-2020 Annual Meeting of the Saskatchewan Hockey Association we included Ethan's name on the Honour roll of members of the Hockey community who we lost during the last season. Evan was recognized by the membership of Saskatchewan Hockey and Hockey Canada who were present on the virtual call. It was noted that Ethan played 8 years of minor hockey with Hockey Regina. and had a profound love of all sports including hockey, basketball and especially football.
This is a terrible loss and the Hockey community offers our condolences to Ethan's family and friends. Life sometimes makes no sense at all.

It is with profound sadness I share these memories of Ethan. The Krattenthaler family football seats are next to our family seats. We watched Ethan grow up as he cheered on the green and white - in his early years with his grandparents, Gord and Gayle, then with his folks and sisters and most recently with his friends as a young man. Not only was he an enthusiastic horn blower (he was a celebrity fan appearing in a poster ad with his grandfather) he was very knowledgeable about the game and the players. His kindness and compassion was evident as he interacted with all the people around him. He will be missed. Our sincere sympathy to his immediate and extended families.

Basil, Andrea, Hayley and Desana... We are so very sorry to hear of the loss of your son and brother, Ethan. It has been devastating news for the community and the St. Gabriel families. Ethan was a good friend and an amazing athlete. From kindergarten through Grade 8, he was involved in every school aspect and was part of all of our lives. I remember Ethan’s determination most on the track and on the court. He was an integral part of those school years, involved in every sport, a fierce competitor, leading the basketball boys to many victories, sharing the school’s City Championships in track and field, was an improv enthusiast, and the list goes on. He was a gentle young man, sweet and kind. We will remember him that way and will cherish the years of wonderful photo memories we have of him. May God comfort you and bring you his peace each day as you try to move forward. We are praying for all of you.
