I remember my Auntie Vera as someone who always welcomed us to her home or the cottage at the lake with a smile and a laugh. She was always happy to feed us (and feed us!) and make sure we were entertained whatever the occasion. She seemed to enjoy having lots of people and family around and she wanted us all to enjoy ourselves. She was always kind and encouraging to me (even with waterskiing!) and she will be very much missed in our family.
Ted and I send our love and condolences to Donna, Brenda, Joy, Paul, Gord and your families and wish we could be with you today.

Vera was a kind and generous person who always saw the positive side of life. She and her husband Rafe were always a lot of fun. I will forever remember and appreciate their generosity and kindness to me. Our condolences go out to the entire Chadwick family.

Vera was a very kind and generous sister-in-law and aunt to Barbara Bennett and Sheryl Bennett. Vera and her husband, Rafe, hosted many wonderful bridge weekends at their cottage on Katepwa Lake which they shared with their good friends the Skeltons, Johnstons and Bennetts. Vera always ensured that her guests were treated to excellent food, fun and games on and in the lake. She was a fantastic mother to her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Vera will be sorely missed by all of us in the Bennett family.
With sincere condolences and love
Barbara and Sheryl Bennett

Grandma Vera was a beautiful matriarch for our family, setting high standards of love, openness, welcoming, joy and love through every single interaction she had with family, friends and people she would meet. We all loved being part of her life, sharing space with her, and watching her hope-filled perseverance.
I can imagine her now, embraced in Grandpa's arms, full of joy, most likely dancing together, and filled with peace, watching proudly as their family lives out both of their legacies.
Love you Grandma. Thank you for your grace, and for all that you have taught me.
You will be forever in my heart!
Your granddaughter, Pamela Gravelle and Dennis Cooke

To Vera's wonderful family--
First met your dear Mom at Christ the King Church, then at the bridge table where we shared many laughs--and good cards together. She was a lovely woman, was so happy to share news of her family of whom she was so proud. During the past year and a half I began taking communion to Vera on a regular basis, then visited her at College Park. There I met two caring daughters. She told me family arranged bridge for her there in her room. You were so good to her and she deserved all the love and attention she received. Visiting her was such a pleasure as she always had a smile and was so welcoming.
She often reminded me of the visit with Father Steve when he arrived on foot at her home with a blessing of the sick and communion--in his shorts. She had quite a chuckle!
I'll always miss that dear lady.

To the family of Vera Chadwick and extended family.
Your dear Mom, Grandma and was such a lovely lady. I always enjoyed seeing her as she was so welcoming and warm.
We spent some fun times with Rafe and Vera in Palm Desert and Regina when the boys were golfing and it was always most enjoyable
She and my husband Hugh shared the same year of birth so we were always interested in each other and how they were doing. Vera was amazing.
Please accept my deepest sympathy. She will be missed by you all. We were very fond of Vera.
Virtual hugs. Lois

Dear Donna, Brenda, Gord, Paul, Joy and families,
We were very sorry to learn of your Mom's passing. As her beautiful obituary states, she touched many lives with her warm and generous nature. I have many memories of your Mom's warm welcomes, and always felt blessed in her presence, either at the cottage or the house on Lakeview or her home on the Assiniboine School property or at church. I remember her cute little chuckle, and the way she would find pleasure and humour in our adventures, anecdotes, stories and opinions. It was truly a privilege and a pleasure to know her. You have all brought honour to both your parents, and you were such good supports for your Mom in her latter years. The world has lost a lovely angel.
