Obituary of Joanne Eileen Brandt

It is with great sadness that we announce that our Mother, Joanne Brandt, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at the age of 83 years, following a lengthy and difficult battle with Dementia.  She was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Herb; parents Delmar and Eileen Canning; and by her sister Deloraine and brother Del.  Joanne is survived by her children, daughter Lesley, son Jim (Stacey); grandchildren Brian (Zaira), Curtis (Alyssa and great-granddaughter Alina), Danielle, Evan (Nikki), Kellen and Kelsey; her brother Bill and sister-in-law Wanda.  Joanne was born in Regina and raised in Lumsden and Regina.  She was an intelligent, organized, energetic and determined woman who came from humble roots and excelled at everything she set out to do, whether it was raising her family, pursuing her career or enjoying life in retirement as a grandma.  We often teased her that she should have had 8 more kids.  Her friends were many and widespread, and she filled her life with visits and celebrations and always had time for fun.  She was a true anchor in all storms, and will be greatly missed.
